Adolescents who view medical marijuana ads more likely to use the drug, study finds — ScienceDaily.

BULLSHIT ALERT!

But, NOT because the article is wrong, per se, but because it might as well read, “People who view ads are more likely to buy the advertised products”.  All together now: “DUH!”

It’s a no-brainer, like saying “people who eat are more likely to survive than people who don’t eat”.  So, why the bullshit alert?  Let me ask YOU:  What is the purpose of stating the obvious?  To sneak in a demonizing meme?  I suspect that Big Pharma is behind all these “revelations”, like:

  • Stoned drivers more likely to get into car accidents than straight drivers.
  • Addicts more likely to use drugs.
  • Drunks more likely to over-drink alcohol.

and so on.  All cast cannabis, drugs, alcohol in a negative light.  If they were up front about it, they’d simply write:

“POT IS BAD”, but if they did, most readers would ask, WTF?  In what way?  How?  And so on.  But, by slipping into a headline like this, people are more likely to unconsciously (or consciously) believe that cannabis is bad.

Why else would they go to the trouble to write the obvious?
