You know, Congress could legalize cannabis nationwide, as Canada and Uruguay have done, and are doing, if they WANTED to.  But, they don’t.  Big Pharma pays them to keep it illegal.  BUT– if you raise holy hell with your representatives, and promise to vote them out if they don’t heed the will of the people, you might get their attention.  But, sitting on your ass wishing will do nothing.

A new study explores another promising new medical application for marijuana. According to the research, the administration of the non-psychotropic component significantly helps heal bone fractures.

If true, this is indeed disappointing.  The article seems credible, which makes it all the more disappointing.  Yet, are all these anecdotes touting success against cancer just lies?  Maybe, maybe not.  Perhaps there are other factors involved, that this researcher overlooked.  OTOH, this researcher may be a shill for Big Pharma.  I don’t know.  Imagine the financial losses for the cancer industry of this plant cured it.  By denouncing it, you won’t even try, so the anti-cannabis myth perpetuates.  Or not.

We need to get Congress to end the wasteful and harmful DEA, so that drug ABusers can be treated for their medical/psychological conditions, NOT criminal ones.  Secondly, this will allow scientists to study and learn about cannabis and just what it can or cannot do.  Thirdly, where in our Constitution does it give the right of the federal government to be involved with drugs?  It is a States’ right.

Write your congressional representative a STRONGLY WORDED letter or email, and ask WHY– when 58% of Americans want cannabis legalized, WHY HAS YOUR REPRESENTATIVE NOT SPONSORED SUCH LEGISLATION?  What is Congress doing about the will of the people and adherence to our Constitution?  Accept no hand-waving double talk.  Ask specific questions, like “What is preventing you from initiating legislation to decriminalize cannabis, as Portugal has done?”.  Keep bugging them about it and remind them that their political careers will be short if they ignore the will of We, The People!

Remember the hassles Rick Simpson went through in his Canadian Nova Scotia town trying to bring the cannabis oil cures he and others used to cure themselves of various cancers? Rick assumed the world was ready for him to share the good news from his and his townspeople’s experiences. After several attempts to get cannabis oil allowed through the court system with many testimonials from those who had been helped, Rick realized this important harsh reality: The cancer industry does not want a cure for cancer.

Strokes in young adults who use marijuana are more likely to be caused by stenosis, narrowing of the arteries, in the skull than strokes in non-users, new research shows. Previous studies found an association between marijuana use and stroke, but the new study is the first to explore differences in stroke in marijuana users and non-users, an approach that can help identify possible mechanisms for stroke in users.

If this is true, then smoking cannabis increases our risk of stroke by increasing the clogging of our arteries to the brain.  OTOH, causality is not shown, and the cannabis could lead to munchies which could lead to unhealthy snacks containing partially hydrogenated oils, which are KNOWN to cause arterial damage and plaque.

In any case, this is something to watch and indeed is a cause of concern, but there is not enough evidence to justify altering one’s cannabis use….YET.

The estimated prevalence of adults who used marijuana in the past year more than doubled in the United States between 2001 and 2013 to 9.5 percent, according to a new article. As is the case with alcohol, many individuals can use marijuana without becoming addicted. However, the clear risk for marijuana use disorders among users (approximately 30 percent) suggests that as the number of U.S. users grows, so will the numbers of those experiencing problems related to such use.

More BULLSHIT from the American Medical Association– shills for Big Pharma.  They are claiming that 1 in 3 cannabis users have “disorders”.  BULLSHIT!  How many people do YOU know that use pot, and how many of them have “disorders”?  Moreover, where is the causality?  Maybe 1 in 3 of those surveyed have “disorders” and thereby use cannabis for relief?  Causality is not shown, and the number they claim is obvious BULLSHIT.

By Anthony Gucciardi Pharmaceutical painkillers are now responsible for more deaths in the United States than heroin and cocaine combined. The pharmaceuticals are  responsible for more than 15,000 deaths conservatively in 2008 alone. With no sign of slowing down, the painkiller industry is becoming wildly popular among Americans — as a result, so is the high rate…

The future of medicine rests on the the fundamental right we all have to use things that spring from the Earth naturally as healing agents. Why should cannabis, used for at least 10000 years by humankind to alleviate suffering, be excluded from this inexorable mandate?
