Marijuana use is associated with a three-fold risk of death from hypertension, according to new research.

No BS that I can detect!  This looks like a reasonable study that sought to exclude confounders, unlike so many poor-quality studies.  Apparently, the longer you use cannabis, the greater the chance for hypertension.

If anyone sees something I might have missed, please add a comment about it.

    Yes, but that does not mean what they say is incorrect. Often it is– true, but sometimes not. I often find poor-quality studies that jump to wrong conclusions. In this case, I find nothing obvious. Either it is total coincidence (unlikely), people with hypertension are more likely to use cannabis (possibly), or the cannabis increases chances of hypertension (most likely).

    It may be that cannabis users get less exercise, and THAT is the direct cause of more hypertension. We don’t know. All I am saying is that there is nothing obviously wrong with this study, so keep an eye on your blood pressure if you are a regular cannabis users. It COULD BE causal.
