I have long been an advocate of a direct test for coordination, judgment, and reaction time, instead of the current cannabis metabolite test being used in some areas to determine whether or not a driver is stoned.  The problem with this test is that cannabis metabolites can remain in a person’s blood for a month after usage has stopped, and is a very poor indicator of the driver’s state of mind.

Instead, a field-administered test of reaction time, judgment, and coordination could be a vastly better indicator of driver impairment and driving ability.  It can be administered with a laptop computer, as law-enforcement officers usually have in their cars, or by a custom device.  Not only would it detect impairment, irrespective of what intoxicant was used, but would also get aged or unhealthy drivers off the road.  It makes little difference whether a driver is impaired due to drug use or because of serious illnesses or age-related degeneration.

Easier access to concealed firearms is associated with significantly higher rates of handgun-related homicide, according to a new study.

Once again, “researchers”, either incompetent or by political agenda, mistake correlation with causality.  Dangerous neighborhoods beget law-abiding people to request concealed carry permits for their protection.  It is the dangerous neighborhoods that are the causal factor.  Concealed carrying citizens do not make neighborhoods dangerous.

Look no further than Chicago, where obtaining a concealed carry permit is virtually impossible.  Chicago has the strictest gun laws in the country, yet the highest homicide rates.  That example, alone, should tell the reader that this “study” is manure; pure garbage.

An estimated 3 million adult American handgun owners carry a firearm loaded and on their person on a daily basis, and 9 million do so on a monthly basis, new research indicates. The vast majority cited protection as their primary reason for carrying a firearm. It is the first research in more than 20 years to scrutinize why, how often, and in what manner US adults carry loaded handguns.

If guns were the problem, this alone would be scary.  Since all these people do NOT commit gun crimes, it pretty much refutes the anti-gun meme.

What bullshit!  These assholes have nothing better to do than chase stoners, and people who use cannabis for medical purposes.  My almost non-existent esteem of lawyers has dipped to a new low.

The company is also under investigation for illegally marketing powerful opioid painkillers.

If this isn’t pure, unadulturated BULLSHIT to the Nth degree, I don’t know what is!  Let’s hope that Trump de-funds the DEA!  (I won’t hold my breath.)

Rumors are flying about whether the Trump administration will crack down on cannabis, but what’s the true story?

Source: Trump and Sessions Seem Focused on Cartels, Not Cannabis | Leafly

What if the DEA and CIA were the biggest drug dealers in the world, to fund black ops projects and enrich themselves?  Consider:  The Taliban wanted to eradicate opium cultivation in Afghanistan, on religious grounds.  Our government declares them to be the enemy and we send troops in to PROTECT the opium fields!?!?!?  What if the CIA then protected huge shipments of opium to clandestine cartel labs, where it was processed into heroin, with the cartels slipping $BILLIONS to the CIA for the wholesale of the raw product, and made many times that by flooding our markets with cheap heroin?

There have been such allegations in the press over the years, even back to Oliver North in the 1970’s, but how would civilians (reporters) ever confirm the truth?  It would be difficult.  Yet, this strong possibility looms.

A conflict between state and federal law has long bedeviled patients who rely on medical marijuana and the clinics that supply them with their drug.

Thank God for a modicum of sanity.
